Glitches and Defects is an ongoing digital art series that explores and exploits acts of transmission through the simulation of digital Human Immunodeficiency Virus [HIV]. A computer virus replicates the transmission of biological HIV. The computer virus corrupts digital files of vintage homoerotic images. The virus produces vibrant, bold visuals and abstract glitch aesthetics that are unique to each image. The processes of infection, replication, transmission and creation by way of destruction reflect on the history of HIV and raise questions about transmission in this era of HIV Undetectability and HIV Transmission Neutrality. High resolution limited edition prints are sized 36x48” and are aluminum dye sublimation printed.
