This painting is the product of moments wrapped up in thought about edge, pressure, and points of contact. How does the experience of touch change within the context of chronic pain and altered sensory processing? How do things sharpen when they should be soft or become loud when they should be quiet? Color is heightened, and select edges are described with unexpected sharpness in order to abstract form, as well as depict fabric in a way that appears rigid and unforgiving at points as opposed to soft and comforting. This references how my own sense of touch is altered, and soft objects no longer feel soothing and supple when touched.
