Warm Glow 1
The Warm Glow of My Self-Made Prison is a body of work that explores the artist’s experience with having Agoraphobia and how that can shape the way a person views a house. The dichotomy between the home being a safe and inviting space while also being a structure of isolation and self-imprisonment embodies the frustrations of desiring a vibrant life outside of the home while struggling with the immense terror of seeking that life. By painting houses at dusk, the artist captures the inviting, warm glow of the presence within, while shadows and shrubbery encroach the home to visually represent the foreboding emotions of the dweller inside.
