"WATCH” is a surrealist art piece that delves into themes of female rituals, performance, and intersectional feminism. The two-minute-long video captures a woman immersed in a peculiar and uncanny world, where she exercises freedom amidst ambiguous scrutiny. Through this performance, artist Fatou Bessem unveils her unwavering self-awareness and consciousness of her identity as a young black woman.
