Visiting a coffee shop on a Saturday morning is a much different experience than during the week. While it can be busy on Saturday, there is a much more relaxed atmosphere as opposed to during the week when people are just trying to grab their coffee and rush off to work. Whether it’s meeting friends, or stopping by before a family sporting event, the coffee shop has become a regular ritual for many people. In this painting, I try to capture the warm early morning light streaming through the windows. On this particular Saturday morning, I was amazed to see three girls working together in harmony like a well-oiled machine, and I wanted to capture that dynamic in this piece.
